Job Description

 

  • Training Site staff on safety issues including Tool Box Talks relevant to site safety
  • Investigating Incidents and near misses and recommending improvements in safety standards
  • Writing safety reports for management
  • Drawing-up safe operational procedures
  • Identifying potential hazards
  • Determining ways of reducing risks
  • Planning safe working practices and making necessary changes
  • Making recommendations following accidents/incidents & Near Misses
  • Organising/attending health and safety meetings
  • Carrying out Site Safety Inductions
  • Making presentations to groups of employees/managers
  • Keeping site specific Key Performance Indicators
  • Keeping the site team up to date with changes in the Legislation and good practice
  • The ability to work together with a team to find good solid solutions
  • Managing Sub-Contractors  
  • Developing effective site processes and procedures
  • Making regular inspections and collating, reviewing risk assessments, method statements and team briefs

 

Qualifications

 

  • NEBOSH Diploma Preferred. Minimum NEBOSH General Certificate
  • An understanding of Mechanical & Electrical processes preferred
  • Good understanding of the CDM Regulations (including all Duty Holders)
  • At least 5 years' experience working within Construction or M&E (some of both would be advantageous) 
  • Experience of working and managing Sub-Contractors
  • Baggage Handling (including conveyers / sorters) experience would be advantageous (but not essential)
  • Airport experience would be advantageous (especially if worked on Heathrow or Gatwick within the last 5 years)
  • Experience within environmental management would be advantageous (especially waste)

 

Additional Information

Based around Heathrow terminals with occasional UK travel.
