Job Description

General Responsibility

The Supplier Quality Engineer reports to the Quality Manager and is responsible for evaluating suppliers and verifying quality standards.  The SQE oversees scheduled supplier audits to ensure compliance with BEUMER and regulatory standards.  This position works closely with Procurement and Engineering in a team environment.  The Supplier Quality Engineer identifies technical problems with suppliers and implements corrective actions.  The SQE must also maintain accurate quality records, and certifications; conduct capability assessments that verify supplier qualifications, travel to assigned suppliers, and lead multiple projects to completion. In addition, the SQE must also manage process controls, establishing schedules for reviewing supplier and quality performance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain Approved Supplier List
  • New supplier evaluation & qualification and reports supplier performance to quality to management
  • Existing supplier development
  • Supplier quality data collection and data analysis
  • Supplier Nonconformity Claim (NCC) Investigation and resolution
  • Supplier root cause analysis by investigating and troubleshooting product or installation issues
  • Supplier corrective and preventive actions
  • Safety program development auditing and data collection
  • Site inspection program development, implementation, data collection and reporting.
  • Maintain successful relationships with Procurement, Engineering, and other departments.
  • Track and qualify or disqualify suppliers according to BEUMER standards in coordination with Procurement and Engineering
  • Assist in the development and implementation of supplier management programs

Qualifications

Requirements / Skills and Abilities

  • Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent industry experience required.
  • Knowledge and experience with quality tools is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with General Industry and Construction Safety Programs
  • Six Sigma or Lean skills and tools exposure is a plus
  • ASQ certification is a plus
  • Driven, energetic, self-assured professional with high personal integrity
  • Attention to detail, must be meticulous and consistent
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite, MS SharePoint
  • Reasoning skills for problem identification and resolution
  • Ability to conceptualize, analyze, plan and organize projects
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Highly collaborative in a team environment
  • Ability to get along well with diverse personalities, while in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally
