Join Software Customer Support
You will join our Software Customer Support department in Aarhus and Aalborg, Denmark. Our more than 30 developers, architects and project managers are developing and delivering high-tech sortation and distribution systems for airports and logistics centers all over the world. The team has and will continue to expand as the orders are pouring in so we are also rapidly adapting to that so your ideas, suggestions, and work are all welcome contributions for that – highly appreciated and you will soon become part of this journey.
We collaborate closely with experts from our other departments on hardware, PLC, Simulation etc. to deliver systems of the highest possible quality. To adapt to our customers’ technical frameworks delivered over more than two decades, we work with multiple coding languages and technical platforms, from C to Java and HTML5 – just to mention a few of these.
Manage software development projects from A to Z
Your primary responsibility will be to plan, lead and execute customer-specific software development projects. Projects that meet the agreed goals of budget, time, scope, resources and quality. The projects typically last 2-8 months and range from smaller deliveries to projects worth several million DKK. As our Software Project Manager, you will collaborate closely with the Project Manager from Customer Support that handles the entire project, including the mechanical and electrical sub projects that form the complete delivery. The target is to ensure quality across both internal as well external processes. Thereby keeping the customer intimacy high by the open and clear communication throughout the complete project so it finishes according the mutual agreements and satisfaction.
More specifically, you will:
- Manage, lead and motivate project teams of 1-20 software developers, hardware engineers, PLC programmers and other specialists
- Present software solutions to customers and internal stakeholders
- Be involved in and responsible for planning and executing the project from specification, design, production, testing and commissioning to handover to the customer
- Be responsible for the software project execution and keeping deadlines and budgets
You can expect some travelling activity – up to 20 days per year, although it may be less, depending on the project locations and conditions.
Good software understanding, basic project management skills, and people skills
As a person, you can handle multiple projects with short deadlines at a time. You also have a strong analytical approach to your tasks, allowing you to comprehend complex tasks. Moreover, you are good at communicating and building relations with your stakeholders, and you know how to motivate your team to achieve good team spirit and deliver with success so everybody is happy.
You also bring:
- An understanding of complete software solutions, including the interfaces between mechanical and electrical areas, and you speak the language of the programmers
- Experience managing complex software projects combined with a relevant master's degree in, preferably, software engineering
- Experience within project management disciplines, such as risk management, estimation, planning and budget follow-up
- A customer-focused approach and a strong sense of urgency, since our customers’ systems are running 24/7 in different time zones
- Fluency in English
If you are certified in PMI, IPMA or some other project management tool, it is an advantage. Also, do let us know if you have knowledge of CMMI as we are a CMMI Level 3 software organisation.
