Job Description

The candidate should be a proactive individual who is able to deal with multitasking a number of priorities at once, who thrives on deadlines but also adapts to moving targets 

You must be able to create and maintain a integrated Primavera P6 programme - they should have an understanding of a NEC4 contract and understand how to reconcile the requirements to include the change management process.

Able to generate narratives explaining variances and evaluate potential mitigations to protect the project.

Knowledge and expertise in working with a cost/budget loaded programme and earned value analysis.

Success in the role of a planner is measured by several factors, including:

  • Accuracy and reliability of project schedules, reflecting realistic timelines and resource allocations.
  • Proactive identification and resolution of schedule-related issues and risks.
  • Effective communication of schedule updates and impacts to stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making.

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Please list the key tasks, responsibilities & duties required to carry out the job.

  • Develop and maintain project schedules using scheduling software and tool (Primavera P6 mainly, also MSP)
  • Identify critical paths, dependencies, and resource constraints within the project schedule.
  • Communicate/Flag schedule updates, delays, and potential impacts to relevant stakeholders (PM/SPM) in a timely manner.
  • Liaises with Project Controller to achieve cost/schedule integration
  • Performs earned value analysis, whenever required by the Project
  • Maintains progress updates in project schedule and flags deviations for project management action and support decision making
  • Flags up any risk and opportunity to Project Manager in terms of scheduling, progress reporting, delays and resource allocation
  • Ensures coordination and alignment between the Project Core Team in terms of planning
  • Analysis Critical Path and communicates with the Project Core team frequently
  • Participates change order impact analysis and supports substantiation and negotiation
  • Performs forensic delay analysis and establishes entitlements for Extension of Time Claims

 

Qualifications

  • Ideally an HNC or equivalent within an engineering sector. Relevant experience will also be acceptable.
  • Ideally worked on integrated Automation Systems within airports or Manufacturing or Distribution Industries
  • Preferably worked on airport baggage handling systems design
  • Competent with understanding NEC contract models.
  • CSCS card would be desirable
  • PMI – SP (desirable)
