Job Description

Role Purpose:

The Sr. Manager, Quality will be responsible for working in collaboration with all Company functions to continuously improve the way we work. The successful candidate will play an important leadership role in working with global QHS leadership to establish in North America an effective Quality Management System (QMS) and measurable supplier quality and compliance programs. Additionally, the successful candidate will ensure that the Company meets all health and safety legislation, regulations, and Company objectives to promote employee wellbeing and achieve appropriate risk control outcomes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In collaboration with all internal functions, establish and maintain an organizational quality management system (QMS) based on a process approach designed to enhance customer satisfaction by meeting or exceeding customer requirements.
  • On a continuous basis gather requirements from external interested parties, particularly customer and statutory and regulatory requirements, to ensure that the Company consistently meets those requirements.
  • Oversee regularly scheduled management reviews of the Company QMS to ensure that it is adequate, effective, efficient, and fits the strategic objectives of the Company.
  • Ensure adherence to BEUMER Group-wide business process and facilitate the definition and documentation of the Company business processes uniquely required by business objectives and strategy in region.
  • Track and report information to the Company's leadership team on QMS performance, including metrics and trends in customer satisfaction, progress on established quality objectives, results of internal and external audits, adequacy of required resources, nonconformities, corrective and preventive actions, and actions to address risks and opportunities.
  • Give continuous overwatch to ensure that all aspects of the business have the resources needed for the establishment, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Company's QMS.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled internal audits of all functional areas and work collaboratively with internal functions on the development and implementation of corrective and preventive actions to address non-conformances.
  • Oversee the organizational process to capture and apply lessons-learned and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as the Company lead on all ISO activities, ensuring excellence in region and harmonization with BEUMER Group priorities and initiatives.
  • Oversee the management of product quality issues from issue identification and assignment, protecting our customers, root cause analysis, corrective action, and implementation of preventive measures.
  • Provide support for Supplier Quality and Compliance functional leadership, including oversight of supplier performance.
  • Provide support for Health and Safety functional leadership, including responsibility for risk assessment, audit review, monitoring, and Health and Safety management within the Company.
  • Review and drive continuous improvement of the Company's Health and Safety policies and practices ensure currency and business relevance.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering or Business Degree with 10+ years of quality systems management experience, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Certification as a Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence, Quality Lead Auditor and/or Engineer by a recognized institution such as ASQ.
  • Superior understanding of the requirements and principles of ISO 9001 and effectively and efficiently embedding them in the quality management system of a high-performance organization.
  • Experience and proficiency with quality improvement tools and techniques such as Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control or Failure Mode and Effects Analysis.
  • Demonstrable success maintaining positive interpersonal relationships that encourage openness with team members using exceptional problem solving, facilitation, and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in the development of organizational risk assessment and management programs.
  • Familiarity and experience with the intralogistics automation industry coupled with manufacturing processes, mechatronic components, and high- and machine-level control systems is strongly preferred.
  • Background in researching pertinent statutory and regulatory requirements and ensuring conformance.
