Job Description

In this full-time permanent role, you will be a champion of diversity & inclusion.

 

The Intermediate Structural Designer is responsible for modeling structural steel, foundations and piles in 3D environment using AutoPlant or SmartPlant with some input from an engineer. AutoCAD or MicroStation proficiency also required for 2D drawing production.

 

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

 

  • Utilize AutoPlant or SmartPlant to model structural steel, foundation and piles.
  • Develop 2D drawings using AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Make basic decisions/plan concerning day-to-day modelling and drawing production activities.
  • Receive technical and administrative supervision from an engineering supervisor.
  • Receive instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions.
  • Solicit assistance on unusual problems and review of method and judgment.
  • Maintain contact with the work group or discipline and interfaces with other disciplines as required. 
  • Communicate effectively intra and inter discipline.
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Participate in and foster a work environment that is based upon openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
  • Understands roles played by other disciplines on the project.
  • Open to Work From Home or Bantrel office locations.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Civil Design and Drafting program
  • 5-10 years of experience preferably in the energy or mining industries
  • Proficient in AutoPlant and AutoCAD or SmartPlant and MicroStation
