Job Description

ES&H Training & Development is responsible for ES&H development, training and competency activities across the IPT. Develops and delivers in-house training and coordinates all external training in accordance with the training needs analysis and keeps training records. Participates in, leads and distributes the regular, continuous training and education material. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conducts a training needs analysis to identify the ESH skills and knowledge required for all levels within IPT.
  • Coordinates in-house and external ESH trainings with all levels of IPT.
  • Develops criteria to verify competencies of high-risk work
  • Develops and presents a tiered orientation program to meet the needs of the project, including Contractor orientations.
  • Maintains ESH training records and matrix for IPT.
  • Openly communicates with the ES&H Director on ESH training needs.
  • Evolves and adapts the ESH program through the project stages.
  • Develops and maintains a plan of training sessions aligned with the project schedule and risk factors.
  • Develops and evaluates training materials and resources in line with industry practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintains a working relationship with field leaders and other ESH team members.
  • Participates in ESH meetings to identify and report on training requirements.
  • Develops and distributes regularly (daily, weekly, monthly) training and education material to the IPT.

Qualifications

 

  • Experience in railway safety, infrastructure and heavy civil preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario OHSA Act and Regulations with an enhanced level of knowledge and experience in construction requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience in managing multitasks and multiple priorities within time frames.
  • Ability to establish collaborative and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • NCSO or other designation is preferred.
  • Professional skill set to deliver quality outputs of an ESH training program.
  • High level of written and verbal communication.
  • Attributes that openly display ESH as a personal value.
