Job Description

 Bechtel Infrastructure will work in a Delivery Partner role within an integrated team with the customer organization for a Subway Project in Toronto, Ontario.  The project scope includes the design build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being performed by three key PPP Contractors and five advanced early works (EAW) packages Contractors.  Bechtel form the key component of the overall leadership team, having delivery partner responsibilities supported by two other components, Technical Advisor (TA) and Program Controls Services Consultant (PCSC).  

The Ontario Line Delivery Partner is currently seeking junior level planner with experience integrating engineering, construction, and procurement schedules for heavy civil projects.  The project scheduler performs schedule maintenance and monitoring activities, as directed.    

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Assists in the preparation of schedule data for reporting.
  • Maintains activity coding for the Ontario Line Master Schedule activities.
  • Determines schedule dates for work activities within a discipline area or specialty. Reviews and reports on milestones that support project schedule.
  • Establishes work sequence and activity durations for a specific discipline or specialty. Analyzes constraints and interfaces that define activity sequences. Works with performing organizations and units to coordinate work sequences within the total project plan.
  • Prepares quantity release or installation curves for a specific discipline or specialty. Reviews quantity logs to ensure total quantities are represented in schedules as required. Performs quantity and manpower resource loading for assigned schedules.
  • Assists in determining what information is required from disciplines to support and interface with the Project. Provides schedule knowledge on a continuous basis to assist in discipline planning and interfacing with others.
  • Performs schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and updating functions for specific applications, disciplines, or specialties. Assists in developing and implementing requirements for updating and monitoring the schedule.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 4 years’ experience in performing quantity takeoffs, statistical analysis, and computer operations. Skilled in understanding technical processes, engineering drawings, quantity determinations, and mathematical and financial reports.
  • Knowledge of the use of computers for executing work processes.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes.
  • Knowledge of engineering and construction management customarily acquired by taking selected discipline training courses or through practical experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field with 3 years of schedule related experience.  In lieu of Bachelor’s degree additional years of project controls experience in the engineering and construction industry are considered. 
  • Primavera P6 experience required
  • Tillos familiarity is preferred, however a candidate willing to master the software will be considered.
