Job Description

In this full-time permanent role, you will be a champion of diversity & inclusion.

The South Civil Interface Coordinator is responsible for overseeing interface activities being delivered by the Project Company (PCo) within the South Civil P3 contract.In this role you will be reporting to the South Manager ( lead )

This contract is for the construction of 7km of twin-bored tunnels running east-west under downtown Toronto, one surface station (Exhibition) and six underground stations.  

Duties & Responsibilities include:

Safeguarding that the PCo completes interface activities in accordance with the contract.

  • Recommending actions to address non-conformances / improve the outcome of interface activities being carried out by the PCo.
  • Identifying health, safety, environment, quality, schedule and cost risks for South Civil interface activities being planned or carried out by the PCo.
  • Recommending actions to mitigate the impact of emerging interface issues and following up.
  • Monitoring delivery of interface activities and recommending actions to improve the outcome of the OL.
  • Validating the list of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) being prepared by the PCo and reviewing the contents of the ICDs for completeness and accuracy. Monitoring the PCo progress towards closure of interfaces described in the ICDs.
  • Reporting progress and escalating issues to the South Manager.
  • Engaging with the South Civil PMs and Field Specialists on interface issues and providing direction and feedback.
  • Reviewing PCo interface related deliverables, including coordinating input from PMs or Field Specialists.
  • Zippered with PCo equivalent.
  • Maintaining a “look-ahead” view and assessing interface activity forecasts, risks and issues.
  • Preparing / reviewing input to DP South Civil progress report for interface activities.
  • Sharing relevant information received from the IPT interface team with the South Civil team.

Qualifications

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Relevant experience guideline: 10-15 years.
  • Previously held project engineering / coordination / interface role(s) on projects of similar scope, scale and complexity to a significant portion of a new metro project.
  • Experience of multiple project delivery functions (e.g. engineering, contracts & procurement, construction, testing & commissioning, project controls, environment, safety & health, quality).
  • Experience of defining, tracking and resolving technical (scope) interfaces for rail stations or similar scope as part of multi-discipline teams within complex mega-projects.
  • Leadership, relationship building and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Fluent in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
  • Demonstrated commitment to Zero Accident safety program.
