The Risk Coordinator will provide risk expert advise to risk and control owners for material and project risks at site and work with contract coordinators and field personnel to advise and facilitate reviews for contractor risks.

Job Description

  • An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility, and sustainable development
  • Guide project teams to identify, assess, treat, monitor, and review all material and project risks in accordance with the Risk Management Project Execution plan
  • Support and coach the project team to build capability in the application of the risk management framework
  • Support the facilitation of risk identification assessment and treatment workshops as requested
  • Support risk and control owners to record risks and controls in GRC or SWORD ARM
  • Support control owners in the development of critical control performance standards.  Work with control owners to ensure that this information is recorded in FLEX and 1SAP work Management as needed
  • Schedule and facilitate the monthly risk owners and control owners meeting
  • Work with site risk superintendent, to look for opportunities for continuous improvement in our risk processes and deliverables
  • Support regular reporting to project management
  • Interface with contractors and contract coordinators to review risk register and participate in risk reviews as required
  • Ability to explain foundational risk management concepts clearly and succinctly
  • Work in a fast-paced project environment with ability to respond to changing priorities from different levels of the organization
  • Site based position

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in engineering, business, finance or another relevant field is beneficial, but not required
  • Ideally 1+ years experience in risk management or project management in an operational or EPCM or capital projects
  • Ability to learn, operate and troubleshoot software
  •  Strong communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal and written form
  • Mine, petroleum, heavy construction, or relevant industrial experience desirable
  • Experience facilitating technical content meetings or workshops with large groups
