Job Description
We are currently seeking a qualified Project Controls Specialist to join our team, based out of Edmonton, AB. The Project Controls Specialist will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and maintaining individual project and project portfolio job hours, progress, cost, and schedule. The successful candidate must be capable of maintaining relationships with engineering, procurement, and construction management disciplines to ensure accurate and timely input to project progressing systems and reporting. The candidate must be familiar with Management of Change programs and provide support to Prime Contract Management and project accounting functions.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Setup and maintain the engineering performance measurement system including the establishment of baseline estimates (hours and costs), work hour and progress curves.
- Maintain, in consultation with the relevant department and discipline leads, the forecast hours to go and/or estimate at completion based on performance to date and the project staffing plans.
- Work with Project Trend coordinator to ensure that the engineering estimate budget and forecast are aligned with the project change and trend registers and provide input to these registers as appropriate.
- Collect and collate progress information, and actual workhours.
- Generate, check and distribute project reports including liaising with responsible discipline leads to resolve any issues relating to the quality of the reports. Potential issues include the accuracy of actual workhours and progress data and the quality of the current estimate at completion.
- Setup and maintain the project timesheet system including the establishment of Time Charge codes and associated WBS structures and budgets.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in Project Controls with engineering earned value measurement.
- Degree in engineering or relevant discipline.
- Previous experience working in the EPC/EPCM, industrial, energy or related industry is an asset.
- Exposure to a multidiscipline project environment.
- Working knowledge of Change and Trend management and associated knowledge of budgeting, forecasting final costs, cash flows and estimating.
- Experience in EcoSys (for Cost and Earned Value management) would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of scheduling principles and experience with Primavera scheduling software would be an asset.
- Knowledge of basic Power BI for project controls analysis would be an asset.
- Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills including report writing and presentation.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines using strong time management, attention to detail and organization.
- High level of proficiency in MS Excel is a must.
