Job Description

As a Software Developer on the Data Services team at Beatport you will work on a 5 to 7 member, cross-functional Agile Scrum team building solutions to address business and technology needs.  Developers are encouraged to work with teammates to solve complex problems outside of their specialization where appropriate.  

You will also take part in planning sessions at the beginning of each 2 week sprint cycle where you will be responsible for planning, tasking, and estimating user stories. We have a highly collaborative environment where the team works together with their Product Expert and Stakeholders to define product solutions. Everyone has the opportunity to contribute to our products and share the success of releasing valuable features on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:
You will be primarily contributing to exposing data created by our Data Warehouse via OAuth controlled API’s.  This means skills in data summarization, aggregation, and analysis are needed.  You will also need the ability to write SQL, have experience with JSON, and data modeling.  

Qualifications

Skills:
- Python 2.6

- JSON / XML

- Parsing, summarizing data

- SQL / MySQL

- Data analysis

- Git/Mercurial/source code control

- Data Warehousing knowledge
- ETL experience / Pentaho Data Integration
- Comfort with Linux


Bonus:

- Tomcat & Lucene/Solr

- Java

- OAuth experience

- Experience with RHEL/CentOs/Scientific Linux and RPM’s
