Job Description

Beatport are looking for a Head of Merchandising to lead the team of tastemakers that program the content across all Beatport sites. 

The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, leadership and effective communication skills, a proven track record of high performance in a similar role and successful commercial thinking, excellent analytical, numerical and problem solving skills and experience of successfully leading change to deliver improved business performance. 

Some of the typical job responsibilities include:

• Manage the merchandising function on all Beatport branded sites.

• Support the business to meet its users’ and customers’ needs, assist in driving sales and keep stock holding to a minimum, whilst maximizing overall profitability

• Provide analysis and insight into the performance of the business in particular in respect of sales & distribution channels, customers, range designs, products and categories

• Manage a department of 7 Merchandisers, in multiple locations, developing and implementing best practice merchandising methodologies.

• Work with Marketing on their campaign schedule.

• Work with the news team to co-ordinate articles and provide exciting material.

• Develop KPI’s so the team can work towards a quantifiable level of excellence.

• Manage the gathering and analysis of data on the performance of range designs to identify key trends and issues.

• Assist in implementing new workflows and processes to achieve company goals

• Lead a change culture whilst coaching, motivating and developing your team to deliver continuous improvement.

• Improve the use of data analytical tools across the business and act as a mentor and role model for the efficient production of insightful management information.

• Use data from analytics to monitor conversion factors of new customers and users.



Qualifications

To land this job you’ll need to have:

• Must have at least 5 years experience in the industry, ideally in retail, marketing or promotions 

• Must have a broad range of music knowledge, as well as an extensive background within the music industry

• Must have a specialist knowledge within dance music, electronic music, and DJ culture

• Must have organization and administrative skills

• Must have some journalist experience

• Must be able to use Excel and know how to interpret statistical data, generate reports, and charts


And it will be an added bonus if you’ve got:

• Experience within DJ, studio, or live performance areas

• Music knowledge in genres specifically related to position

• Knowledge using Google Analytics, PowerPoint, and Photoshop

• Blog writing experience
