Company Description

Beatport is growing and we are looking for talented people who are passionate about what they do. We have built an amazing business around inspiring people to play with music and everyone's role here plays an important part in this.

Job Description

We're building a next-generation platform for fans and artists of electronic music culture to connect. We've been hard at work on our product for a year, and we're ready for your help. You'll be working on a modern music product that's beautifully designed and filled with dozens of interesting user interface challenges.

Qualifications

You'll be expected to use these skills and software:

  • A keen eye for visual design
  • Semantic HTML markup
  • Mobile-first responsive design
  • CSS preprocessors (we use Sass)
  • SVG animation
  • Git and GitHub
  • Command-line tools like npm and bower
  • Design tools like Photoshop and Sketch
  • Familarity with JavaScript
  • Willingness to touch and learn Ember code

You'll be building out new features for our application in code, but also expected to create visual mockups or suggest improvements with wireframes. Experience working on products with modular large-scale CSS systems will be a big plus. We take pride in writing styles that are easy to maintain for the long haul.

We offer a competitive compensation package, plenty of vacation days, and VIP access to select music events. You will work with a team that values collaboration and mentorship. We are always helping one another—someone almost always has the answer for any question you've got.

We’re based in New York, but flexible for remote workers if the fit is right. Some of our team is already remote, so being able to communicate clearly in writing and on video chats is a must. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States.
