Benedictine Health System (BHS), a non-profit, mission directed, values-based health care system providing a full spectrum of health and housing services to aging adults is seeking a Director, Employee & Labor Relations in our Shoreview, MN office.
Job Description
This position is responsible for directing the employee and labor relations for the system including:
• Managing the collective bargaining process for BHS locations
• Coordinating and participating in the negotiation process
• Analyzing information to make business decisions supporting the grievance process.
• Providing training and support to managers leading in a union environment.
• Assisting human resources at BHS locations in day-to-day employee relations issues.
Qualifications
Qualifications Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organization Development, or Business Management.
• Five (5) years of progressive experience in professional labor relations, including experience in union negotiations, grievance handling, arbitrations, and collective bargaining.
• Five (5) years of progressive experience working in complex service organizations with responsibility for several key human resource functions.
• Extensive knowledge of labor and employee laws.
• Experience with labor management committees.
• Experience with alternative dispute resolution.
• Ability to travel to BHS locations 20% -25% of time.
Qualifications Preferred:
• Experience as chief labor negotiator representing and advising management of labor contract negotiations and issues.
• Knowledge of healthcare and/or long-term care industry.
• Labor relations experience specific to healthcare and/or long term care.
