BlaBlaCar is expanding its ridesharing community around the world. Our local team in Amsterdam is developing our service in the Benelux. As a Communications Manager you will have the opportunity to help us build our Benelux community by defining our communication strategy and PR activities, where you will work closely with the Country Manager and be in regular contact with our communications team around the globe. 

What you will directly contribute to 

Driving PR

• Building and implementing a roadmap for PR operations in the Netherlands
• Building on and fully managing the relationship with our PR agency
• Brainstorming and leading the implementation of innovative PR ideas
• You are the Communications lead – so actually - it's up to you!

Driving communications

• Working with the Country Manager to prepare public speaking engagements and media interviews
• Planning and executing media events, including blogger meet-ups and press launches
• Entering BlaBlaCar into a broad range of industry awards
• Driving negotiations for communication partnerships

Collaborating with the rest of the team

• Working closely with your colleagues in the Communications and Marketing team to ensure the cohesion of all of our communications 
• Taking part in Social Media campaigns, events and help produce compelling content for our channels

Contributing to and collaborating with the Global Communications Team (in English)

• Feeding ideas into brainstormings about future global communication projects
• Helping implement global communication projects where necessary
• Sharing learnings and news from the region with other regions

• 5 years minimum of experience in Communications or Public Relations (is preferable)
• Thorough knowledge of the Dutch media landscape
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Native level in Dutch
• Fluent in English
• French is a plus
• Ability to keep your cool and sense of humor under pressure
• Hands-on approach 
• Ability to work with international teams and quickly develop an understanding of the cultural differences
• Passion for BlaBlaCar and the mission of the company
