Job Description

As a Social Media Manager you will be joining our Ukrainian team in Kyiv. You’ll be joining a very skilled and motivated team of people, whose goal is to foster awareness, love & engagement.

Our mission is to become a low-cost transportation market leader in Ukraine by creating the ridesharing reflex in people’s mind, positioning BlaBlaCar as the most fun and serious service and having our members become evangelists of BlaBlaCar on social networks and in real life. As such, the role requires a sharp, creative, dynamic and rigorous mind.

The key responsibility will be to define and implement a long term social media strategy, create content and engage with our community.

You will report to the Country Manager, streamlining daily contact with the Global Communications team in Paris and with other community/social media managers based across Europe.

What you will directly contribute to

  • Defining a long term social media strategy to be scaled to Facebook, VK, YouTube and Instagram
  • Creating the content to be aligned with the social media strategy
  • Building and managing all of the interactions with the community across online platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and VK
  • Defining and implementing a publication schedule for our different channels, while benchmarking competitors (and relevant companies) and their strategies
  • Answering to our members’ questions on social networks while identifying and winning the loyalty of ‘defenders’
  • Moderation of content and comments
  • Detailing out new online communication strategies
  • Creating contests and interactive content to engage with the online community and spread BlaBlaLove
  • Participating in organizing events, presence and implication on the ground during the events

Qualifications

What you will need to be successful

  • 2-4 years of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills (in any situation)
  • Deep understanding of online community management: social networks and member relations
  • Must be able to work outside contractual hours when necessary
  • Passion for BlaBlaCar and the mission of the company
  • Ukrainian/Russian mother tongue + excellent command of English (written, read and spoken)
  • Excellent social skills
  • Keeping your cool and sense of humor under pressure
  • Ability to work with international teams and quickly develop an understanding for the cultural differences
  • Deep understanding of the nature of a long-term social media strategy, having worked in creating social media strategy and interacting with online communities before
  • Willingness to interact with the BlaBlaCar community online day in and day out
  • Experience in event management is a plus
