Job Description

Boutique Hospitality Management is currently developing two hotels on the Caribbean coast of Panama. We are currently seeking a project manager to oversee the pre opening activities and coordinate with company executives, owners and contractors alike. The ultimate objective is producing a world class resort.

This position will oversee the hotel pre-opening activity and operations during the pre-construction of two hotel properties in Bocas del Toro, Panama.  We are looking for someone to work out of both the Miami office and on site at the project as well.  This would position would support of the President with project and pre-opening activities.  This position will require a lot of travel.

Position Summary

This is a mid-level position that will be asked to work collaboratively with other team members, contracted third parties, and with the owner/principal of the firm. The primary focus will be day to day oversight of hotel programs currently in process. Direct hotel pre-opening experience in the Caribbean or Central America required. In all activities, candidate will represent the Company to coordinate activities with third party consultants and on-site property managers.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Management Company’s Representative coordinating all of the pre-opening activities on hotel and coordinate with the construction team, the construction timeline and act as a liaison between hotel personnel, construction contractors and BHM management.

  • Assisting overseeing and managing all on site activities at hotel properties, including scope development, identifying and managing designers, as well as consultants, and contractors.

  • Project management including research of equipment, materials, supplies and methods, sourcing and negotiating qualified Supplier or contractors' bids, reviewing contracts, and quality control during all stages of the project.

  • Develop long and short range plans for the operation of the campus. Ensure the plans, once approved, are properly executed. Ensure operational standards are communicated, trained, and maintained

  • Assist and coordinate timely budget and forecasts regarding, but not limited to business levels, financial requirements, personnel needs and organization plans needed to support the resort operations

Qualifications

Qualifications MUST include the following

  • Previous work experience directly in preopening hotel REQUIRED

  • Hotel pre construction or renovation experience REQUIRED.

  • Must speak FLUENT English and Spanish REQUIRED

  • Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision REQUIRED

  • Highly organized with strong analytic skills REQUIRED

  • Excellent computer skills (incl. Microsoft Excel in a business environment) and ability to learn new programs/systems quickly REQUIRED

  • Excellent attitude and a strong work ethic REQUIRED

  • Ability to work under pressure and on deadline REQUIRED

  • Valid, Current Passport REQUIRED

  • College degree Preferred
