Job Description

Responsibilities

 

-Solicit groups (sleeping rooms) and catering business from all market segments.

-Understand all details pertaining to the corporate, social, local and small groups market.

-Works directly with clients and meeting planners gathering necessary information for menu planning, group room block, contracts, floor plan, meeting room set-up, timelines, rental orders, cost and billing details and any other requirements pertinent to their event in a timely manner.

-Coordinates contracts, group rooming list, menus, staffing and implementation of all groups’ guestrooms and F&B events: preparation and distribution of BEOs, group resume and catering schedule.

- Manages F&B service during event to ensure proper service by staff, provide good communication with client and working cooperatively with all departments of the hotel.

-Complete event reports, post-event file and submits all invoices, receipts and closing inventories to appropriate person.

-Maintains complete and in-depth files on all future and past events.

-Performs other job related duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications

-MUST HAVE hotel and food & beverage sales experience. Bi-lingual English and Spanish.

-Enjoys a team sales approach, soliciting business and closing sales.

-Strong customer service orientation and skills

-Ability to focus attention to details, prioritize and organize work assignments: delegate work when appropriate.

-Ability to be a clear thinker, analyze and resolve problems, exercising good judgment.

-Ability to exert physical effort in transporting and placement of tables, chairs, podium and other event equipment.

-Ability to work without direct supervision.

-Exceptional detail in soliciting and FOLLOW-UP.

-Must possess mature, professional demeanor to interact with vendors, staff and guests.

-Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel. Opera a plus.

 

Education Requirements:

-High School diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
