The Conference on Asian Pacific American Leadership (CAPAL) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-partisan educational organization dedicated to building leadership and public policy knowledge within the Asian Pacific American (APA) community. Job Description

The CAPAL Public Interest Legal Counsel will work under the Board of Directors to perform the following tasks:

1)     Ensure that CAPAL is operating in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

2)     Review legal and contractual agreements.

3)     Perform official filings, including filings to maintain CAPAL’s 501(c)(3) status.

4)     Advise the Board of Directors on other legal issues as applicable. 

This is an unpaid position ideal for lawyers early in their careers.  Candidates must be based in the Washington D.C. area.

Qualifications

Candidates with a demonstrated commitment to public service, including service to the Asian Pacific American community, are strongly preferred.   Additionally, candidates must  serve a one year term.
