Job Description

This Heavy Duty Mechanic, Apprentice position is responsible for troubleshooting, inspecting equipment and replacing and/or repairing defective parts.   Based out of our Fort McMurray location.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preventative maintenance on Hydrovacs, Vacuum, Combo and Water trucks; sewer flushers, Highway tractors and trailers.  
  • Ongoing diagnostic and repair of Diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems, pumps and truck/transport vacuum equipment
  • Complete CVIP inspections
  • Interpreting work orders
  • Inspection of fleet equipment
  • Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled

 Skills

  • 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification
  • Oil Field experience an asset
  • Weight handling of up to 50 lbs
  • Experience in dredge and pump systems
  • Valid Class 5 license
  • Produce a clean and current driver’s abstract
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Maintain accurate records of all service and repair work
  • Demonstrate an uncompromising commitment to health and safety
  • Possess prior knowledge of repair and maintenance on John Deere, Cummins and CAT engines
  • Willing to work an on call schedule and adapt to changing work environments
  • Be proficient with use of computers
  • Have the  ability to multitask
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and electrical systems and the ability to provide your own tools would be assets
  • Work in a team environment.
