Job Description

The Field Planner/Estimator will be the main point of contact for CEDA’s Chemical Cleaning clients. This position is responsible for taking the lead in developing strategic plans and estimates for Chemical Cleaning projects. Once awarded the project, the planner/estimator is responsible to ensure project completion and technical support is available to field operations. Additional responsibilities include ensuring project completion in direct correlation to original cost estimate.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create cost estimates for projects as per plan, client requirements and agreed upon contracts
  • At times you will act as project manager, and will be sent to site to oversee the project. While this is the case you will supervise the assigned personnel, equipment, material and subcontractors for the assigned work
  • Ensure work performance is planned and coordinated according to work plan schedule, quality, budget and safety objectives – clearly communicate these objectives with dispatch and the operations manager
  • Maintain the project work-site in a safe and environmentally sound condition per CEDA policies, procedures and Safe Work Practices
  • Properly prepare equipment layout, hookup requirements and assigned crew work lists for setup, processing, rig-down and decontamination in advance to supply to dispatch
  • Develop and maintain positive customer relations by leading through safe work performance and measurable key performance indicators. Monitor customer feedback and corrective actions; use feedback to implement improvements and make adjustments to the quality systems in order to meet customer requirements
  • Maintain and update procedures based on company policies and client requirements
  • You are the face of CEDA while on the client site – your knowledge of Chemical Cleaning will enable you to speak knowledgeably with the client and sell CEDA’s services
  • Work with laboratory services and blend plant to coordinate chemistry needs required for project completion
  • Familiarize self with client agreements for the purpose of accurate control of obligations; you will use existing client agreements to build your estimates

Role Specifications

  • 5+ years of Chemical Cleaning experience in industrial services/maintenance is required
  • Class 5 licence is required
  • Class 1 or 3 licence would be an asset
  • Working knowledge of local, provincial and federal guidelines regarding Safe Work Practices
  • Occasional travel to site locations is required

Skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills allow you to clearly and concisely present information to clients, peers and field personnel
  • Strong time management and organization skills will allow you to prioritize changing work scope and meet multiple deadlines
  • Your strong negotiation skills and ability to influence others allow you to gain commitment
  • Experience with using the Microsoft Suite and you pick up new computer programs/software quickly
  • You are highly motivated and proactive; eagerly accepting new challenges and working under minimal supervision
