Job Description

CEDA is looking for a Jouneyman Millwright.

The shift is 14x14, 12 hour days with camp and a travel allowance. Work with a best in class team at a great site south of Fort McMurray! 

This is a temporary 3 month contract.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance to all rotating and stationary equipment
  • Critical flange alignment
  • Pipe strain management on various types of pipe
  • Execute scopes in accordance with Federal and Provincial standards
  • Install, dismantle and overhaul facility and field equipment such as pumps, automated and robotic systems, electrical controls, conveyor systems, power tools, hydraulic systems, emissions controls, mechanical clutches, gear boxes, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems, etc.
  • Repair, fabricate or replace defective machinery components and follow up testing on repairs
  • Rig and move machinery and parts
  • Test and calibrate equipment
  • Assist operations start up and shutdown of equipment according to appropriate safety procedures and governing standards
  • Interpret schematics and read service manuals to determine work procedures
  • Perform optical alignments
  • Operate computer-controlled equipment and programmable logic controllers
  • Respond to emergency mechanical events and collaborate with client operations teams in the review and development of annual Preventative Maintenance Plans and monitoring practices
  • Establish and communicate task lists and bill of materials required for planning
  • Complete time sheets and work orders
  • Complete field level risk assessments

Role Specifications

  • Journeyman Millwright required
  • 3-5 years’ experience in SAGD facilities / Oil & Gas Heavy Industrial
  • Class 5 Driver’s licence required
  • Ability to complete a pre-employment drug & alcohol test
  • Valid tickets required:
    • H2S Alive
    • Confined Space Entry
    • Fall Arrest
    • ESC CSO certification or CSTS-09
    • Aerial work platform training
  • Basic First Aid is an asset
  • Rigging Training is an asset

Skills

  • Able to read P&ID & drawings
  • Computers are your friend, not your enemy
  • Challenge your eye for detail, practice what we preach. Take your time, get the job done right the first time and safely every time
  • You’re meticulous – you have no problem completing the required paperwork for projects and jobs
  • Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
  • You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
