Job Description

CEDA is looking to fill a position in our Payroll team with an individual who has high computer literacy and knowledge of both salary and hourly payroll processes. CEDA’s office staff is currently working remotely but this position is based out of our Calgary office.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work, support and be an active team player within the Payroll Team
  • Develop and maintain processes to increase the efficiency of payroll
  • Upload and review Weekly and Biweekly hourly payrolls including deductions etc.
  • Review New Hires, Rehires, Employee changes and Terminations
  • Request, process and verify all ROE’s for accuracy in a prompt efficient manner
  • Respond to Service Canada Inquiries within the required time frames
  • Review, prepare, and submit all (13) Union Remittances
  • Process manual pay calculations and special payments
  • Respond to inquiries from employees, managers and various Government agencies
  • Work with Employee Resource Center and all of Human Resources       
  • Assist with preparation of T4s
  • Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience with a large, complex organization with a variety of payrolls is required
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) Certification is required
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Payroll legislation
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Provincial Employment Standards
  • Intermediate Excel skills (Pivot tables, V look Ups etc.)
  • Experience with union and non-union payrolls
  • Experience using Ceridian Dayforce would be an asset
