CEDA is looking for Journeyman Field Machinist for our upcoming 2022 spring outages. Outages are planned throughout Alberta and will be starting in April.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate machinery to create various precision parts
• Operate equipment including various flange facing tools.
• Use of various hand tools in the fabrication of different precision parts
• Work with steel, aluminum, titanium, plastic, silicon and other materials to create or, repair various parts.
• Ensure adherence to blueprints, instructions, and specifications
• Assemble, install, maintain, clean and repair new and existing equipment
• Assist in training, direction & supervision of junior employees and apprentices, inspecting their work
• Maintain safe work practices and procedures
• Keeping detailed and accurate, maintenance reports and quality documentation
• Ability to travel and flexibility in scheduling is required
• Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications

• Registered Apprentice or Journeyman Machinist
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
• Experience in heavy industrial and or construction environments considered an asset
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
