Job Description

CEDA is looking for Pipefitters for our upcoming 2022 spring outages. Outages are planned throughout Alberta and will be starting in April.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install new mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, compressors, air dryers, converters, heat exchangers, relief valves, pressure-reducing valves, condensate tanks, re circulation pumps, booster pumps, pneumatic controls, coils, isolation valves, 3-way valves, condensate traps)
  • Fabricate and weld piping/equipment supports, brackets, guides
  • Fit up and prepare piping requiring welded joints
  • Liaise and collaborate with other trades, consultants and suppliers
  • Provides occasional guidance to the primary function of others, including training.
  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints and specifications to determine layout requirements
  • Cut openings for pipe in walls, floors and ceilings using hand or power tools or machines
  • Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required shape using hand and power tools
  • Weld, braze and thread joints to join pipes and fabricate sections of piping system
  • Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
  • Test system for leaks using hydrostatic and pneumatic technologies.
  • Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications

  • Registered Apprentice or Journeyman Pipefitter/Steamfitter (Red Seal preferred)
  • Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Receptive to change - can adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate objects of up to 80 lbs. for 50 feet is required.
  • Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
