CEDA is looking for Boilermakers for our upcoming 2022 spring outages. Outages are planned throughout Alberta and will be starting in April.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
• Layout, shape and cut metal and other materials using hot and cold method
• Fit and assemble components using fastening methods such as bolting and welding
• Assemble and utilize hoisting equipment to move and place materials
• Examine and repair boilers, pressure vessels, tanks, or vats to locate defects, such as leaks, weak spots, or defective sections
• Install boilers, and repair existing boilers and related metal product
• Support safety and continuous improvement programs
• Take part in planning and scheduling within work systems
• Layout, shape and cut metal and other materials using hot and cold methods
• Test system for leaks using hydrostatic and pneumatic technologies
• Other duties as assigned

Role Specifications

• Registered Apprentice or Journeyman Boilermaker (Red Seal preferred)
• Previous experience in an industrial setting is an asset
•  Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
