Job Description

CEDA is currently hiring a Lead Hand for our Chemical Cleaning division in Conklin, AB. This position is based in the shop with daily travel to various sites.

The Lead Hand, Chemical Cleaning will lead crews and operate and and maintain a variety of industrial cleaning equipment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operating and maintaining all equipment associated with Chemical Cleaning
  • Provide quality services to our clients, communicating the status of the job regularly
  • Recommend changes and improvements to services and product lines based on job experiences and observations
  • Complete minor maintenance and checks on equipment
  • Read work orders for assigned jobs and designate proper hoses, chemicals and other equipment required
  • Responsible for hookup and breakdown of equipment using proper tools and procedure
  • Inspect equipment prior to starting job and ensure equipment is properly decontaminated at end of job
  • Ensure safety for all team members and property
  • Complete required paperwork for projects and jobs
  • Assist Technician(s) in the performance of their duties and responsibilities
  • Leave the job site in better condition that when we got there. Clean, safe and job done.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum valid Class 3 licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required
  • 3+ years of experience in chemical cleaning is required
  • SAGD experience is an asset
  • Prior experience using equipment such as low pressure chemical pumpers or hot oilers
  • Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test

Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to do basic math
  • You are safety focused when it comes to people and equipment
  • Perform physically demanding work including climbing multiple flights of stairs and carrying equipment (able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis)
  • You have the ability to work well in a team, share a laugh with your coworkers and get the job done safely
  • Experience and comfort with confined spaces such as a small vessel/tank or trench
