Job Description

CEDA is currently hiring a Journeyman, On-Road Heavy Duty Mechanic for our Regina location. This is a full time position working from 08:00 to 17:00, Monday to Friday with opportunity for overtime.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Preventative maintenance and repair on hydrovac, vacuum, combo, water and high pressure/low pressure trucks, highway tractors/trailers and support vehicles
  • Ongoing diagnostic, service and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumps
  • Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts
  • Interpret and complete work orders
  • Complete service calls in the field as required
  • Identify and order parts as required
  • Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled

 Role Specifications:

  • Heavy Equipment Technician Journeyman (On-road) certificate required
  • Valid Class 5 licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required
  • Class 1 or 3 licence is an asset
  • Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset
  • Ability to operate truck and trailer diagnostic equipment is a requirement
  • Able to operate a forklift, overhead crane and/or skid steer etc. would be an asset - CEDA will train if you don’t have these tickets
  • Able to provide a negative result on a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Able to provide your own tools

  • Able to work in a sometimes fast paced environment
  • Perform physically demanding work; able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
