Job Description

CEDA’s shop in Fort McMurray offers a first-class culture of professionals, great equipment and our mandate of doing the work right the first time is the pride we bring to the shop every day.

The shift will be either a 7x7 or 14x14, 12hr days based out of our truck shop at 180 MacLennan Cres, in Fort McMurray, AB. Travel will not be provided to Fort McMurray.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preventative maintenance on Hydrovacs, Vacuum, Combo and Water trucks; Downhole Pressure trucks, Highway tractors and trailers
  • Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines, after treatment/emissions, hydraulic systems and pumps
  • Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts
  • Interpret work orders
  • Required to go on service calls in the field
  • Work alongside apprentices and delegate work
  • Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled

 Role Specifications

  • Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentice, 3rd or 4th year required 
  • Valid Class 5 licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 license would be an asset
  • Weight handling of up to 50 lbs
  • Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset
  • Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Able to provide your own tools

 Skills

  • You’re happiest working in a team, sharing a laugh with your coworkers and getting the job done safely
  • You’re meticulous – you have no problem completing the required paperwork for projects and jobs
  • Your knowledge of, Cummins and CAT engines would set you up for success
  • Computers are your friend, not your enemy
