Job Description

CEDA is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Project Control Specialist to join our team in our Edmonton location! This is the ideal position for someone with proven experience providing project controls in a turnaround environment. You will have the opportunity to utilize and hone your skills in both in the field and in the office.

This is a temporary position until October 2024 with the possibility of extension or moving into a permanent role.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the setup of projects full cycle, in accordance with the company policies and procedures
  • Develop process documents for estimating, planning, and workflow
  • Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives and tracking
  • Provide regular stewardship reports for contract performance
  • Assist with the development of work scope definitions, preliminary estimates, budgets, schedule scope change and resource requirements
  • Provide estimating and bidding support, along with project cost, schedule, progress measurement, and change management support
  • Work directly with operational divisions, providing support in all project control related areas including cost control, progress measurement and schedule control
  • Assis with the implementation and progressing of Client's Project Control initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of project controls experience with cost and schedule control is required
  • Advanced knowledge of project controls (principles, theories, concepts, practices, processes and expectations) is required
  • Experience providing project control support in the Industrial Services Industry is an asset
  • Project Management Professional certification is an asset
  • A background in accounting or finance is an asset
  • Versed in the MS Office Suite of products (Word, Excel) and Primavera
  • Possess a knowledge and understanding of contracting, negotiating, and change management theories
  • Must be willing and able to travel for projects throughout Alberta and across Canada
  • Able to provide a negative result on pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Valid Class 5 licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required
