We are working on Security, a service in charge to ensure the security of any person entering the domains of the organization, their properties and the properties of the Organization.

You will be part of a small and dynamic team working in the CERN Site Management and Building Department. Within the framework of video surveillance, we have more than a thousand cameras, spread over 16 sites, representing an area of more than 200 hectares fenced. For the management of the video system we use a Milestone platform.

With more than a thousand cameras, it is important that we can use some automation of the analyses to optimize the efficiency of the system and facilitate the task of the operators in the control room (relevance of the information/alarms transmitted to the operator). At the same time, we would like to carry out tests on software applications that could help us in our subsequent research (video search efficiency, reduction of search time). Part of the work will also involve thinking about intrusion management through the formalisation of a strategy, standards, and procedures. We also wish to set up a reflection on the life cycle management of technical installations. Finally, we would like someone capable of doing technology watch to identify trends in the sector and products that could bring added value.

In addition, the person will therefore need to have a strong aptitude for video in all its forms (video surveillance, video analytics, thermal video, image analysis...) and a good understanding of security issues.

Eligibility criteria:

• You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State;
• You have graduated, or are about to graduate, with a university degree (BSc or MSc level in computer science,engineering or another relevant course) and have no more than 4 years’ relevant experience after obtaining your degree;
• Kindly note that experience prior to the latest obtained degree will not be taken into account for the calculation of your overall years of experience.

• An employment contract for between six months (minimum) up to a maximum of 36 months.
• A stipend ranging from 5,281 to 6,558 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax).

• Depending on your individual circumstances: an installation grant, family, child and infant allowances as well as travel expenses to and from Geneva.
• 2.5 days of paid leave per month.
