Electrical Project Manager (EN-EL-EPM-2020-129-LD)

  • Contract

Company Description

At CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, physicists and engineers are probing the fundamental structure of the universe. Using the world's largest and most complex scientific instruments, they study the basic constituents of matter - fundamental particles that are made to collide together at close to the speed of light. The process gives physicists clues about how particles interact, and provides insights into the fundamental laws of nature. Find out more on http://home.cern.

Within the Electrical Engineering (EL) group of the EN department, you will join the Electrical Project Management Section (EPM), which is responsible for the management of projects related to the consolidation and upgrade of CERN’s electrical transmission and distribution network.

Are you an experienced electrical engineer looking for a new challenge in projects ranging from high voltage networks to low voltage installations? Then your skills could contribute to the management of the complex electrical transmission and distribution network of CERN, dedicated to a unique laboratory hosting some of the world’s most complex technical installations. Join CERN’s Electrical Engineering team. Take part!

Functions

You will be one of the engineers leading CERN’s electrical transmission and distribution projects for the future.

You will:

  • Manage projects for the consolidation and extension of the existing electrical network, including also supervision and coordination of non-electrical activities such as civil engineering, cooling and ventilation, IT systems carried out by other groups at CERN;
  • Discuss requirements with stakeholders;
  • Carry out conceptual design phase work, leading the development work needed to validate concepts up to the drafting of the conceptual design specifications and reports;
  • Coordinate the detailed design, with resources within CERN or with external companies;
