Job Description

We acquire, process, analyze and manage all forms of geological and geophysical data including seismic, gravity, magnetic and satellite. Their services range from Non-Exclusive studies to Multi-disciplinary services, are active in all processes relating to the search for, and exploitation of hydrocarbons.

Joining the Geological Products Team and reporting to the Product Support and Delivery Manager, the successful candidate will provide world class support for our geological products - including Basins & Plays, Geochemistry and Plate Kinematics – and associated databases and delivery mechanisms.  The successful candidate will, as part of the Robertson User Support Team, proactively engage with clients on implementation issues and provide outstanding user support for our range of GIS delivered desktop and web products.  In addition, the role will include responsibility for supporting pre and post-sales activities for the Geological Products group. This includes creating and updating marketing materials (i.e. updating relevant web pages on the Robertson Portal), maintaining contact lists/CRM and assisting with event management.

The candidate must have a high degree of IT literacy, be an excellent communicator, a confident presenter and show creativity and tenacity in problem solving using a range of techniques.  To fulfil the role the successful candidate must also have the ability to work independently and interdependently with the scientific and other technical teams responsible for building and delivering each product and communicate with clients and other stakeholders in a friendly and professional manner.

There may also be a requirement to undertake on location work.  This role may also require international travel to some extent and will entail direct interaction with clients.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a strong IT background including exposure to / experience of databases, ArcGIS and web applications.

A basic understanding of at least one high level OS scripting, querying or mark-up language with practical experience of databases and writing SQL.
