Job Description

This position consists of developing hardware/software requirements and testing/debugging products for compliance to requirements for telematics products as well as supporting defect investigation in a lab and vehicle environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Specify and support development of lab test setups and equipment needed for test
  • Capture and refine customer requirements and specifications
  • Develop/maintain system level benches for verifying operation and compatibility of telematics modules with other OE components
  • Complete Failure Mode and Effect (FMEA) documentation and resolve high risk item
  • Support customer requests for investigation, requirements clarification and documentation
  • Work in vehicles for collecting test data, evaluating system performance and confirming operation of hardware
  • Participate in customer calls, workshops and test sessions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Four or more years of electronics module development experience, preferably at a Tier 1 automotive electronics company
  • Experience in requirements analysis for Mechanical, Electrical or Software engineering, including design, implementation & validation
  • Experience with automotive bus systems and protocols (CAN/Flexray), Communication systems (USB/I2C, etc) and traffic analysis
  • Experience with various scripting languages for test tools or be able to develop basic applications, e.g. using Visual studio or VBA
  • Experience with RF systems and how to measure and test RF signals
  • Experience with EMC testing and improvements
  • Knowledge of automotive instrumentation systems
  • Demonstrated success as the lead or systems engineer on one or more complex projects/applications
  • Possess understanding and experience with typical industry practices and OEM customer requirements for design of electrical products
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Excellent analytical and strong verbal communication skills
