Job Description

Summary 

CONTROLTEC is seeking a hard working, knowledgeable and detail oriented Project Engineer (Powertrain Systems Engineer).  The Project Engineer assists in the development and support of various projects related to engine/vehicle control systems and telematics, CAN communication, powertrain and calibration, and data acquisition including analysis and system validation, in the Original Equipment (OE) and Aftermarket sectors.  Positive attitude and strong customer relation skills are essential. 

 

 

Essential Duties

 

  • Develop engineering solutions within assigned project scope and timing
  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
  • Research, design, evaluate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical products, equipment, systems and processes to meet requirements, applying knowledge of engineering principles
  • Maintain customer and supplier contact
  • Contribute to project quotes, various reports, layouts and studies
  • Stay current in training in the latest calibration technology

Qualifications

Desired Skills & Qualifications

 

  • General knowledge of OE & aftermarket engine, transmission and OBD vehicle calibration and product development systems
  • Proficient with product development tools including data acquisition, management, and analysis tools, preferred
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent organizational, writing and documentation skills
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to research and solve complex issues independently
  • Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organizationWelcome a challenge, enjoy the freedom to create and use their imagination
  • Enjoy working in a high-energy, unstructured environment, possibly as part of a project team
  • Programming experience (desired)
