Job Description

SUMMARY

Provide leadership in the development, design, pricing, approval and implementation of new annuity products. Fully understand the impact of product related regulations and communicate the effect of new or proposed regulatory changes. Establish and guide the development of advanced actuarial projection models to analyze profitability.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Propose, research and develop annuity products in accordance with the company's financial goals and risk appetite
  • Analyze impact of product designs and reinsurance solutions on capital and surplus position
  • Research, develop and/or provide guidance on policy form language for new products
  • Produce and /or guide the production of product filings for new products
  • Stay current with product related state and federal regulations
  • Ensure materially accurate calculations on administrative and illustration systems
  • Perform and/or oversee experience studies and assumption setting
  • Support Inforce Management and Risk initiatives
  • Manage Annuity Pricing team
  • Other duties as assigned
     

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related major
  • 12 plus years actuarial experience
  • Prior annuity actuarial experience
  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with focus on building organizational talent
  • Experience presenting results to senior management
  • Ability to manage concurrent deadlines and multiple priorities in an organized manner
  • Proficient in GAAP, Statutory and Tax financial reporting requirements for annuities
  • Knowledgeable in AXIS, ALFA, or other actuarial projection systems
  • Advanced use of Excel
