Major Duties
Under general supervision of the Director of Web and Technology Services of Student affairs, is responsible for the oversight and guidance of planning, coordination, programming and ongoing support of web development services and their integration; is also responsible for internet-based services for student engagement and service delivery in the Division of Student Affairs. Oversees implementation of web development services and the technical development of a division-wide web service framework which includes oversight of the CloudFoundry web environment for Ruby on Rails applications; curation of code repositories; management of weekly code releases; restructure of current applications to Ruby on Rails; and establishing the practice and consistent use of Test Driven Development (TDD). Provides recommendations for implementation of web technologies for the division; provides training and web coaching for student personnel; provides day-to-day web application support; researches new technologies; and manages web-based initiatives for the division. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Equivalent to graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field. Three years of full-time, progressively responsible field-related experience. Certification training and applied experience may be substituted for the required education, on a year-for-year basis up to two years.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Thorough knowledge of: programming and testing methods and techniques for web development. Ability to utilize and fully understand numerous operating systems including MacOSX, windows, and various types of Linux/Unix (e.g. HP/UX and GNU/Linux. Thorough knowledge of: client/server technology, analytical methods and techniques, general programming and testing techniques, and general knowledge of standard Web Development tools. Knowledge of Ruby on Rails. Thorough knowledge of PC/MAC based web browsers and related tools. Knowledge of specific industry standard applications programming language and systems analysis techniques; and generally accepted documentation methods. Ability and specialized skills to: accurately communicate and deliver design requirements within a complex hierarchical organization; independently configure and administer server-based applications; analyze problems; propose effective solutions; understand functional and procedural requirements; analyze problems and propose effective solution; understand functional and procedural requirements and develop alternative solutions; relate solutions to management, technical staff, and users; communicate effectively both orally and in writing; establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; make presentations; conduct meetings; provide user training; and prepare programming and user documentation.

The salary range for this classification is: $4372 - $8949
Anticipated hiring range: $4372 - $6000, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
