Job Description

The goal of our co-op program is to develop future resources for our organization while providing support to our engineers and enriching program participants.  We structure the co-op assignments so that the participants develop the ability to accept an increasing level of complexity and responsibility. 

Engineering Co-op students at Champion Technology Services are considered to be an integral part of the Engineering staff and are provided with tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating.  Under guidance of the engineering staff, students will be assigned to teams associated with ongoing projects/programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Miscellaneous technical data generation and analysis. (These tasks may involve writing new software or modifying existing code.)
  • Support of component and full-scale test activities
  • Interface with other internal organizations such as production, marketing, service and purchasing, as well as external customers and suppliers.
  • Create flow charts and spreadsheets in support of ongoing projects.
  • Assist engineering team in identifying process improvements.
  • Provide engineering support for quality issues.
  • Optimize/re-engineer existing designs
  • Preparation and modification of engineering drawings and electrical wiring diagrams using both manual and computer-aided systems.

Qualifications

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills.  Must display maturity and a high level of professionalism.
  • Must be organized and work well with constant priority changes.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior in a qualifying four year engineering degree program. (Electrical Engineering , Computer Engineering, Engineering Technology)
  • Understanding of voltage, circuits, wiring diagrams and programming.

 

Schedule:

  • Must be able to work fulltime for the summer, fall or spring period.
