Job Description

The primary responsibilities for the Marketing Copywriter & Coordinator, is to write copy and help the VP of Marketing to obtain maximum publicity exposure for our products as outlined in our marketing strategies and budget. They will focus efforts on copy that generates sales leads, media interviews, editorial review coverage and social media interaction. The ideal candidate will be a "hunter" that continually finds new and effective ways to get results-based marketing/publicity. While also being eager to jump into new projects in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on execution and quality output.

*This is a full time, in house position, located in our corporate office in Lake Mary, FL. 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop strong copy for marketing & publicity efforts as needed
  • Work with the marketing team to strategize and develop campaigns that get successful results.
  • Write press materials, develop media kits, trade shows, and/or targeting of media on behalf of Charisma Media authors and/or products
  • Develop and coordinate all public relations and/or marketing efforts as directed
  • Develop and distribute galleys, letters and other promotional materials
  • Coordinate marketing and sales relationships with authors through timely, accurate information on marketing and publicity activities.
  • Partner with Charisma House authors to leverage media contacts, ideas and/or exposure to generate publicity /sale leads
  • Oversee the development, maintenance and utilization of PR contacts database.
  • Oversee timely and accurate updating of the Publicity Interview Logs as well as the Marketing Expense Reports
  • Coordinate author travel
  • Oversee author relations at trade shows, events, signings, etc.
  • Provide media and/or social media training for new authors
  • Build and manage relationships with all key media contacts for maximum results.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance and utilization of PR contacts database.
  • Interact with and coordinate all activities regarding author relations, events, and schedule appearances with marketing, sales, and content development
  • Work with the Marketing Team to provide administrative support for projects/campaigns as needed.

EDUCATION:

4-year degree in journalism, public relations, or communications required, or equivalent experience in marketing, sales, etc.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally both written and verbally, with understanding of basic grammar skills in regards to business correspondence.
