Job Description

Sales and Service (70%)

  • Provides professional, excellent, and courteous customer service as outlined by CAFs Customer Service Standards
  • Supervises the store and its personnel when the Manager of Sales and Service is not available
  • Serves as a role model for all Sales & Service Associates and provides guidance on tasks that need to be accomplished
  • Acts as a point person to answer all Sales and Service Associate questions on retail and tour software
  • Maximizes peak/slow times to ensure proper allocation of Sales and Service Associates between retail floor, box office, and call center
  • Supports the sales strategy as implemented by the Manager of Sales
  • Ensures that the store is fully stocked, visually appealing, orderly and clean
  • Assists in the supervision of Sales and Service Associates to ensure proper procedures are being followed, proper attire is being worn, customer service issues are being dealt with in a positive way, and sales techniques are being utilize to ensure sales goals are achieved
  • Opens and closes the store as scheduled, strictly adhering to established procedures and guidelines on cash drawer preparation, register closing, report printing, and securing the safe, store and office.
  • Assigns selling floor zones, register terminals, and lunch breaks to staff
  • Assists the Manager of Sales and Service with sales, register and procedure training for the staff
  • Works to fulfill customer special orders and requests
  • Participates in all areas of the annual physical inventory
  • Other duties as assigned

Box Office (30%)

  • Ensure that the box office is fully supplied with all needed tour logistic equipment such as GTS devices, stickers, brochures, etc.
  • Manage inventory of up-sell items and ensures that Sales and Service Associates are proactively up-selling to guests as appropriate
  • Processes CAF docent, press, and staff comp tickets
  • Contacts guests to provide refunds or exchanges in the event that a tour or program is canceled
  • Handle escalated guest inquiries when appropriate
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills and Attributes 

  • Available to work a flexible 32 – 40 hour work week
  • Self-motivated to meet sales goals and inspire others to meet those goals
  • Strong customer service skills, including the ability to engage customers to close a sale, and the ability to respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner
  • Ability to successfully work in a team environments
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Able to lift and move 40 pounds
  • Able to stand and walk the sales floor for an 8 hour work shift

Education and Experience Requirement 

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of two years of working in a retail environment with at least one of those years having supervisory responsibilities
  • Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite and retail computer systems
