Job Description

Perform weekly website maintenance via web-based content management systems (CMS), including:

  • Manage and execute day-to-day website content change requests (text, image, light multimedia)
  • Work with graphic design/marketing team to ensure consistency and alignment of online content updates with other marketing efforts (e-communications, print, social media)
  • Actively monitor and archive expired website content
  • Manage and track progress of A/B testing efforts
  • Light troubleshooting of HTML formatting issues
  • Cross-browser testing

 

Participate in longer-term, goal-based web projects, including:

  • Assist Web Designer and Manager of Digital Initiatives with design and development of new website pages and digital tools that support organizational events, programs and exhibitions
  • Participate in architecture.org website redesign project (underway, planned launch December 2014)
  • Assist Research and Media Planner with keyword research and optimization
  • Assist with holistic web content audit (in progress)
  • Participate in establishing, evaluating and documenting digital team processes
  • Assist with management of Google Analytics tracking code and reporting

 

Position will include other projects that align with intern’s education/coursework goals as appropriate. Perform other duties as assigned.                             

Qualifications

Skills and Attributes

  • Moderate to advanced experience managing and creating user-centered web content
  • Understanding of clean, effective web design
  • Light to moderate HTML skills, CSS knowledge a plus
  • Moderate experience with web-based content management systems
  • Knowledge of SEO, content marketing principles a plus
  • Knowledge of mobile design/UX a plus
  • Knowledge of Javascript and jQuery a plus
  • Experience with Blackbaud NetCommunity or Drupal a plus
  • Must be naturally curious
  • Ability to work autonomously and meet deadlines
  • Creative problem-solver
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Comfortable working with and presenting to a team
  • Highly-trainable, quick learner
  • Pays attention to details, a “triple-checker”
  • Able to be on-time and on-task

 

Education and Experience Requirement

  • This internship is ideal for a candidate pursuing a degree in web editing/publishing, web design or digital marketing.
