Job Description

Overall Responsibility               

Provide helpdesk & website support for teachers, professionals and students using Chicago Architecture Foundation’s DiscoverDesign.org.  This position will be approximately 10 hours per week.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

 Provide user support services

  • Help users learn, use and understand the features of DiscoverDesign.org
  • Help orient, train new and existing customers on how to use the ion platform and features, including basic, intermediate, and advanced skill sets. 
  • Field questions from students on what should be uploaded
  • During the annual competition, provide support for the registration / application process
  • Communicate users' experiences and feature requests to internal departments in an appropriate and prioritized way.

 

Monitor & manage website traffic

  • Monitor spam
  • Monitor and support posted comments
  • Monitor and manage new accounts
  • Watch for patterns of new schools, export lists on a regular basis
  • Provide Google analytics and refine analytics dashboard as directed
  • Export lists of users to share with Education, Marketing and book sales team to cross promote CAF products

 

Troubleshoot technical issues

  • Report any web or server issues in a timely manner to Manager of Discover Design
  • Troubleshoot server issues with the IT Department
  • Help with login, password, or upload problems

 

Other: 

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Skills and Attributes

  • Basic Drupal knowledge preferred
  • Ability to answer technical questions about the system in clear, understandable terms

 

Education and Experience Requirement

  • College Degree or pursuit of Degree preferred
  • Minimum 2 years experience in the areas of community outreach and organizing, volunteer management, program development or project management; cultural program delivery experience helpful.
