Job Description

The Youth and Teacher Engagement Assistant is responsible for assisting in the preparation and logistics associated with (1) CAF’s annual competition for teens, the Newhouse Architecture and Design Competition, (2) the pilot CAF Teen Fellowship program, and (3) other education program administration as needed. Administrative duties include: processing registrations for the competition, databases, and communicating with registrants and teachers. Additional event planning duties include: ordering workshop supplies, preparing handout packets, and confirming event logistics.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Create and update multiple types of spreadsheets

• Enter data from programs, competition registrations and final projects

• Communicate and follow up with teachers on student information

• Order and keep track of program and/or competition event supplies

• Work with Education team to produce forms, packets, other written materials

• Process registrations (send confirmation email, enter into database, clean database, etc)

• Assist in checking in final student projects

• Assist in set-up and take-down of Newhouse Competition Exhibition

• Assist in communicating with jurors on Jury day

• Create name labels for student projects

• Update and print competition event handouts and nametags

• Organize data collected from judging

• Other duties as assigned


Schedule is as follows: 

January – April, 10 hours per week

April – June 2015, Approximate hours/week:

• April 28 – May 2 – 20 hours

• May 5 – May 9 – 20 hours

• May 12 – May 16 – 30 hours

• May 19 – May 23 – 30 hours

• May 26 – May 30 – 20 hours

• June 2 – June 6 – 20 hours
