Title:

SQL Server Database DBA/Developer

Location:

Chicago, IL

 

Responsibilities:

 Support and maintain database servers and SQL Server 2008 R2 databases.

 Understand, acquire, and update financial & economic data, quality assurance checks, and

metadata.

 24 hour production support.

 Meet the database related requests of Trading Dept., Back Office and Research teams in a timely

manner.

 Documentation of all processes.

 Utilize best-practices of in-house system analysis, design, and programming standards.

 Status reporting to business stakeholders and senior management.

Requirements:

Expectations of this role include the ability to demonstrate clear and concise verbal and written

skills are crucial to working with a variety of business roles to plan, schedule, organize, and coordinate

development efforts.

Required technical skills and experience include:

 Strong SQL Server T-SQL development skills - at least 3 years of experience

 Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices

 Performance tuning of Stored Procedures

 Some Experience with SSIS and SS Reporting Services

 Management of data from multiple sources including internal and external data

 Assessment of database performance and identification of problem areas

 Maintenance of database security schemes

 Maintenance of database Mirroring and Replication schemes

 Database Management: file size/growth; backup/restore

Required competencies include:

 Strong communication skills and abilities

 Problem solving skills

Bonus skills include:

 Knowledge of financial data

 Knowledge of software development best-practices and standards

Compensation:

Salary plus annual bonus (Depends on experience.)
