Job Description

Sales Support act as the conduit between the front office / clients and the rest of the Bank providing full support directly after the point of execution through the lifecycle to settlement and confirmation. 

 

The main function performed by the members of the Sales Support group is the role of a Sales Assistant.  The overall objective of the Sales Assistant is to provide high levels of service to our internal clients (Sales) and our external clients (Customers) whilst mitigating the operational risk associated with the activities they perform to support the business areas. 

 

The specific activities carried out by Sales Assistants include:

  • Providing support to Sales for all product types executed by the Sales desks;
  • Trade Capture into relevant systems dependant on asset class;
  • Verbally confirm trades with clients on trade date for fixed income products;
  • Liaise with clients to obtain and coordinate the processing of trade allocations;
  • Facilitating Account Opening and Account Maintenance liaising with Sales and Clients to ensure that the necessary documentation is received on a timely basis to enable client adoption to be completed to ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory rules;
  • Monitor fixed income fails, liaising with clients, sales and fails team to ensure fails are resolved in a timely manner and to mitigate risk of bottom line adverse impact to the Bank;
  • Follow up on operational queries on trade breaks coming from Clients, Documentation, Settlement, Sales, Trading etc.;
  • Day to day first point of contact for Sales with respect to resolution of queries on trades executed by the desk;
  • Responding to Ad hoc reporting requests from CBS management, Sales Business Management and the Sales desks;
  • Providing input into business requirements documentation, actively participating in User Acceptance Testing;
  • In-depth understanding of technical aspects and processing procedures for all asset classes;
  • Keep up to date with all market/industry initiatives and understand their impact on the business, escalating where appropriate to ensure necessary changes to systems/processes/organization takes place as required.  

Qualifications

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree ( Preferred major or concentration in Business/Finance/Economics/Mathematics).  MBA a plus.
  • Series 7, Series 63, Series 24 would be beneficial.
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience, preferably in fixed income and/or derivative product role. 
  •  Strong Excel user skills.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to appropriately prioritize tasks and issues in a time pressured environment.
  • Team player who can contribute to the success of the team and the Bank.
  • Very strong communication skills for effective interaction with Clients, front office and operations colleagues.
  • Strong technical skills, previous experience of Credit Derivatives and Fixed Income products preferred. 
  • An understanding of the operational Trade Lifecycle and trade capture platforms a bonus. 
  • Candidate should have an appreciation of Industry initiatives, Novation Protocol, Electronic Vendor Platforms.
  • Quick and eager learner.
  • Good attitude and highly motivated self starter.
