Position Description
Responsible for general accounting that involves the preparation of statistical data and financial reports, warehousing, AS400 Information Systems, and MIP Accounting and Payroll Systems.
   
Description of Job Tasks
•    Performs a wide range of professional level accounting, fund accounting, financial analysis, auditing and financial reporting.
•    Supervises and trains Fiscal and Logistic staff.
•    Maintains financial records for all funded programs.
•    Assists Chief Financial Officer in budget preparation and financial reports to funding sources; works with local funding sources on financial portion of contracts.
•    Works with and provides information to all Auditors.
•    Responsible for Payroll system; maintains control records and prepares workers’ compensation reports and tax reports; prepares quarterly 941 statements; maintains TEC employee statistics; maintains payroll direct deposit records and performs direct deposit  bank file transfers.
•    Coordinates year-end procedures and prepares tax statements.
•    Responsible for retirement system internal administration; prepares reports; submits data to AUL; prepares census; trains and enrolls employees.

Qualifications

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•    Possess excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus good organization skills.
•    Well-developed understanding of and experience with Office of Management and Budget audits.
•    An effective communicator at all levels in the organization, with strong oral and written skills and a willingness to share information.
•    Creativity, with experience funding activities in ways that both cover costs and generate operating margins.

Education and Experience
•    Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from an accredited college, or a combination of at least 5 years’ experience in Accounting and/or college education.
•    Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
•    Experience in non-profit finance (accounting, budgeting, control, and reporting) preferred.
•    Knowledge of finance and accounting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
•    Computer proficiency with ability to utilize word processing, spreadsheet, search engines, and other specialized software.
•    Experience with SAGE MIP Accounting and Payroll System preferred.

Additional Information

Must pass all criminal history background checks. Must have valid driver’s license, current insurance and reliable transportation.
