Job Description
JOB TITLE: Surgery Billing Coordinator POSTING PERIOD: 4/19 - 29/2013
LOCATION: University Familt Health Center PAY RANGE: $13.58 - $19.01 hourly
REPORTS TO: Director of Revenue Services FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for review and analyzing patient's financial requirements for schedule procedures. This position will also execute payment arrangements and coordinate billing/collection efforts.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Research, review and the cost of schedule procedures.
- Establish payment plans and coordinate collection efforts.
- Analyze patient's financial statement pertaining to schedule procedures and issue reminders on outstanding balances.
- Assist the billing department with collections as needed.
- Codes and enters Charge data.
- Collect and post patient payments.
- Follow up on unpaid balance for schedule procedures.
- Codes surgical claims for payment.
- Follow up and monitor surgical accounts.
- Manage workflow for surgical and hospital claims.
- Provide support to the billing entity as needed
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma plus some specialized training.
Experience: At least 1 year previous surgery billing, including at least two years billing experience. Must know Coding and CPT coding with expertise with Surgical Codes; ability to read EOB/Remittance Advice.
Licenses or Certifications: CPC required; additional certifications preferred.
