Circus of Smiles is an arts education program that offers school based enrichment classes throughout the East Bay. Our classes are about creativity and empowerment, and our Teaching Artists take great pride in creating an environment that is both collaborative and non-competitive. We offer the following classes: Circus Arts, Puppetry, Acrobatics, and Ninja Circus! A portion of the funds from each of our classes goes towards supporting our outreach efforts for youth in Oakland and abroad.

Are you hardcore at Parkour? Keen at Karate? Awesome at Acrobatics? Are you an incredible instructor? We are looking for a Sensei to help train an army of ninjas. Get kids off their video games and out into the world sneaking, running, and rolling. Lead strength and stealth challenges for your little ninjas as they pass through obstacle courses limited only by your imagination. Engage the imagination as well as the body.

Circus of Smiles is searching for instructors to teach enrichment classes! Our ideal candidate has teaching experience and is excited about a part time position teaching kids How to be a Ninja! We provide training and a curriculum while you bring enthusiasm and skills.

Classes are held once at week at each school for 1 hour plus additional time for setup and cleanup. Classes typically run between 1pm and 4pm at schools in San Francisco, across the East Bay, and in Mill Valley. Occasionally we will have 2 classes back to back at one school. 

Teacher Responsibilities:

• Manage a class of 6-25 students
• Design curriculum
• Build positive relationships with parents, teachers, and school staff
• Account for all students enrolled
• Set up and clean up classroom
• Attend skill building workshops
• Have fun while making sure students are having a great time!
  

Requirements:

• 2+ years teaching experience
• Experience creating and writing curriculum
• Excitement to work with Kinder through 6th grade students
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to show proof of a negative TB test as well as pass a Live Scan Fingerprint Clearance

We Want to Pay You To Do What You're Good At!

$35-$40 per class for lead instructors and $25 per class for assistant instructors.
