Colby Community College, located in the northwest corner of Kansas, was established in he spring of 1964.  The college has grown from 99 students in the fall of 1964 to approximately 1,800 in 2013.  CCC has an 80-acre main campus, and a 64-acre farm located just a few minutes east of Colby.

 

In addition to on-campus classes, CCC accommodates hundreds of off-campus students by offering classes at 24 locations in the 14-county service area and through online and hybrid courses.

Job Description

Colby Community College is accepting applications for the Vice President of Business Affairs to serve as the school’s chief financial officer with responsibility for the college business services and operations.  The Vice President of Business Affairs is a member of the senior leadership team of the college reporting directly to the President.  A bachelor’s degree in accounting with a CPA licensure or a master’s degree in a related accounting field is strongly preferred. A minimum of five years of professional experience in accounting or public finance is required.  The successful candidate will direct, monitor and oversee all college financial operations including administration, planning and communications.  Primary among these responsibilities is maintenance of sound fiscal policy, effective financial controls and institutional budgeting.  In addition to ascertaining compliance with local, state and federal regulations, the Vice President of Business Affairs is responsible for all budgetary and financial procedures for the college including payroll, purchasing, inventory, investments and insurance.  Integrity, innovative thinking, a sense of humor, understanding of the rural community college, and ability to work as a team is necessary.  Postsecondary experience preferred.  Send application letter, resume with references and all postsecondary transcripts to Colby Community College, Attn:  Lisa Failla, 1255 S.
